Wild Basin Trailhead
Trailhead and ranger station at the end of Wild Basin Road, off Highway 7, for Copeland Falls (0.3 mile), Calypso Cascades (1.8), Ouzel Falls (2.7) and the lakes beyond.
The trailhead and Wild Basin Ranger Station sit at the end of Wild Basin Road, about 2 miles in from Highway 7, at 8,500 feet. To get there from Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, go about a mile east on US 36, take Mary’s Lake Road 2.4 miles to Highway 7, turn right and follow it 9.1 miles to Wild Basin Road; drive past Wild Basin Lodge and bear right to the entrance station. The park’s trail list gives Copeland Falls at 0.3 mile, Calypso Cascades 1.8, Ouzel Falls 2.7, Ouzel Lake 4.9, Bluebird Lake 6 and Thunder Lake 6.8 miles one way.
