Rocky Mountain National Park

Trail Ridge Road, which links Estes Park and Grand Lake in summer, Bear Lake Road and more than 350 miles of trail. An entrance pass is needed at all hours, and a timed-entry reservation from late May to mid-October.

A National Park Service park with more than 350 miles of hiking trail; Trail Ridge Road crosses it, 48 miles one way, and climbs to 12,183 feet. Entrance passes are sold at the staffed entrance stations (cards only; the park is cashless) or online at Recreation.gov, and timed-entry reservations ($2 processing fee) are sold only through Recreation.gov, not at the gates. The park’s Information Office answers 970-586-1206 year-round: 8 am–4 pm daily in summer, and in winter 8 am–4 pm on weekdays and 8 am–noon at weekends; the recorded Trail Ridge Road line is (970) 586-1222.
